The Cat - Penzance to Newlyn & Mousehole
The Cat from Penzance to Mousehole is a scenic journey that captures the essence of Cornwall’s rugged coastal beauty and rich cultural heritage. Starting from the bustling town of Penzance, known for its historic architecture and vibrant arts scene, the route offers passengers a unique blend of urban and rural experiences.
As the bus departs from Penzance’s central bus station, it heads past Penzance Harbour, gradually leaving behind the town’s lively atmosphere. The route follows the A30 road, providing glimpses of the stunning Mount’s Bay with the iconic St Michael’s Mount in the distance. The journey continues through Newlyn, a quaint fishing port where the sight of colorful boats and the smell of fresh seafood evoke a sense of maritime tradition.
From Newlyn, the bus winds along the narrow, picturesque roads characteristic of Cornwall, surrounded by lush greenery and occasional coastal views. The route takes passengers through charming hamlets and past traditional Cornish cottages, each telling its own story of the region’s history and culture.
As the bus approaches Mousehole, the landscape becomes even more enchanting. The Cat uses bigger buses than The Mousehole, so buses stop at The Old Coastguard Hotel, and don’t continue into the village to Mousehole Harbour.
