Accessibility & on-board features

Passengers can take small folding bicycles on any South Western Railway (SWR) train, provided there is space for safe stowage without causing obstruction. For non-folding bikes, space is generally available on a first-come, first-served basis on most of the SWR network, except for services on the London Waterloo – Salisbury – Exeter St David's route where a reservation is required. There are also restrictions for bikes on trains arriving at or departing from London Waterloo and Clapham Junction during weekday peak hours. SWR staff reserve the right to refuse a bicycle if there is no space to transport it safely.
