Spectacular sights

The journey showcases some of England’s most stunning countryside. The iconic Ribblehead Viaduct, stretching 440 yards across Batty Moss, offers panoramic views of the Three Peaks – Pen-y-ghent, Ingleborough, and Whernside.

As the train climbs to over 1,100 feet above sea level, passengers witness sweeping vistas of limestone pavements, traditional stone-built villages, and expansive moorland dotted with sheep and dry stone walls.

Blea Moor Tunnel, carved through solid rock over four years, demonstrates the incredible determination of Victorian engineers. The route passes through the dramatic landscape of the North Pennines, with views of rolling hills, ancient settlements, and the distant Lake District fells.
