No advanced booking: just turn up and go!

Booking a seat on the Waterloo & City Line, like all London Underground services, is not possible. You do not need to book in advance; simply turn up at either Waterloo or Bank station. You pay for your journey using a contactless payment card or device, an Oyster card, or by purchasing a paper ticket from a machine at the station.

Concessions & free bus passes

Concessionary passes are accepted on Waterloo & City Line.

Accepted concessionary bus passes: London Freedom pass.

The London Freedom Pass is valid for travel on the Waterloo & City Line. Holders of an Older Person's Freedom Pass can travel free anytime on weekends and bank holidays, and from 09:00 until 04:30 the next day, Monday to Friday. Disabled Person's Freedom Pass holders can travel free at any time. English National Concessionary Travel Scheme (ENCTS) passes issued by councils outside of London are not valid on the Waterloo & City Line (Tube services); they are only valid on London buses.
