Book your journey
on Avocet Line

Booking is possible, but not essential.

You can purchase tickets for the Avocet Line online through the Great Western Railway (GWR) website or app, National Rail, and other third-party retailers. Tickets are also available from ticket machines at selected stations along the route, such as Exmouth, Topsham, Newcourt, and Digby & Sowton. If boarding at an unstaffed station without a ticket machine, you can buy your ticket from the conductor on the train. It is expected to purchase a ticket before boarding if facilities are available.

Concessions & free bus passes

Avocet Line does not accept concessionary bus passes.

You can not use your concessionary bus pass to travel on Avocet Line. There are other great value tickets available for you.

English National Concessionary Travel Scheme (ENCTS) passes and Freedom Passes (when used outside London) are primarily valid for bus travel in England and are not accepted for free travel on Great Western Railway (GWR) train services, including the Avocet Line. While local authorities may offer discretionary concessions on other modes of transport, no information indicates such an agreement for the Avocet Line. GWR offers a Disabled Persons Railcard which provides a discount on fares, but this is a separate scheme from the listed concessionary passes.
