Glasgow, Troon & Ayr does not accept concessionary bus passes.
Accepted concessionary bus passes: Scotland National Entitlement Card.
The Scotland National Entitlement Card (NEC) is valid on all ScotRail services within Scotland, including the Glasgow, Troon & Ayr route. Visually impaired or blind cardholders are entitled to free rail travel in standard class within Scotland, with no time restrictions. For those aged 60 and over, the National Entitlement Card is generally not valid for travel between 06:00 and 09:00, and between 16:30 and 18:00 on weekdays, unless travelling to a hospital appointment. Disabled cardholders are not subject to these peak time restrictions. Within the Strathclyde area, which covers Glasgow and South Ayrshire, the Strathclyde Concessionary Travel Scheme offers a one-third discount on eligible ScotRail services. Young Scot National Entitlement Card holders (16-18 years old, or up to 25 for full-time volunteers) receive 1/3 off most rail fares and 50% off Season Tickets, with a £12.00 minimum fare before 10:00 Monday - Friday (except in July & August).
