Concessions & free bus passes

Sussex Downs Line does not accept concessionary bus passes.

You can not use your concessionary bus pass to travel on Sussex Downs Line. There are other great value tickets available for you.

Based on available information, standard concessionary passes such as the English National Concessionary Travel Scheme (ENCTS) bus passes and the London Freedom Pass are generally not valid for free travel on National Rail services outside of specific London zones. The Sussex Downs Line operates entirely outside the London fare zones. While Freedom Passes are valid for free travel on local buses across England (with time restrictions), this does not extend to train services on the Southern network in Sussex. Similarly, ENCTS passes are typically for bus travel. Discounts are available through various Railcards, such as the Disabled Persons Railcard and Senior Railcard, which offer reduced fares for eligible individuals on Southern services, but these are not 'concessionary passes' providing free travel.
