Dogs can usually travel with you onboard this route.

Accessibility & on-board features

Passengers can take bikes on Northern trains, including the Tyne Valley Line, free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis, with no reservations needed. There is limited space, typically for a maximum of two bikes per train, and wheelchair spaces must be kept clear. Tandems, tricycles, and trailers are not permitted due to space constraints, and electric bikes are allowed but cannot be charged onboard.
