Citylink 976 - Glasgow, Loch Lomond & Rest And Be Thankful to Oban
The Scottish Citylink route 976 is a scenic coach journey that connects Glasgow with the picturesque town of Oban, passing through some of Scotland’s most breath-taking landscapes. This route is a favourite among travellers and locals alike, offering a unique blend of urban and rural Scotland in one journey.
Starting in the vibrant city of Glasgow, the coach departs from Buchanan Bus Station, making its way northwest towards Dumbarton.
As the bus leaves the urban sprawl, passengers are treated to views of the River Clyde, before reaching Dumbarton, a town steeped in history, known for its ancient castle perched atop a volcanic rock.
The journey then continues along the A82, skirting the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond, Scotland’s largest freshwater loch. The views here are simply stunning, with the rugged Highlands in the background and the serene waters of the loch providing a dramatic contrast.
After Loch Lomond, the route ascends into the Highlands, passing through the striking Rest And Be Thankful pass, a viewpoint offering panoramic vistas of the surrounding glens and mountains.

Animals, other than trained assistance dogs, will not normally be allowed to travel on our coaches. Trained assistance dogs should wear their harness or identification jacket whilst travelling.
Exceptions will be made for small animals which are fully contained within a pet carrier. The pet carrier must be secured on the floor area of the coach beneath the passenger’s feet.
