The Scottish Citylink route 977 offers a picturesque journey through some of Scotland’s most stunning landscapes, connecting the bustling city of Glasgow with the tranquil beauty of Oban.
Starting from Buchanan Bus Station in Glasgow, the journey takes passengers northwest, leaving behind the urban sprawl and heading towards the scenic wonders of the Highlands.
The first major stop is Dumbarton, a town steeped in history with its famous castle perched on a volcanic rock. From here, the bus continues towards Loch Lomond, passing through the charming village of Balloch.
As the bus skirts the shores of Loch Lomond, passengers are treated to breath-taking views of the largest freshwater loch in Scotland, with its surrounding hills and serene waters.
The route then proceeds to Inverarnan, a small hamlet that offers a gateway to the rugged beauty of the Highlands. From Inverarnan, the journey becomes increasingly scenic, with the road winding through remote and dramatic landscapes, showcasing the true essence of the Scottish wilderness.

Exceptions will be made for small animals which are fully contained within a pet carrier. The pet carrier must be secured on the floor area of the coach beneath the passenger’s feet.
