Accepted concessionary bus passes: ENCTS (English National Concessionary Travel Scheme), and Scotland National Entitlement Card.
English National Concessionary Travel Scheme (ENCTS) passes are valid on Stagecoach in Cumbria services, including Route 79. They allow free travel after 09:30 until 23:00 on weekdays and all day at weekends and on bank holidays. The Cumbria Concessionary Travel Scheme applies to journeys to and from Gretna on Route 79 for ENCTS holders. Scotland National Entitlement Cards are accepted for free travel on all local bus and coach services throughout Scotland at any time of day. These cards are also valid on cross-border services to and from Carlisle from anywhere in Scotland, but not for travel solely within Carlisle. London Freedom passes with English National Concessionary details are also eligible for concessions as per the Cumbria Concessionary Travel Scheme.
