Booking a seat to travel on the Northern Line, which is part of the London Underground (Tube) network, is not possible or required. The service operates on a 'turn up and go' basis. You can simply tap in at the start of your journey and tap out at the end using a contactless payment card or device, or an Oyster card. Your fare will be automatically calculated, and daily/weekly capping applies to ensure you pay the best price.

Concessions & free bus passes

Concessionary passes are accepted on Northern Line (Battersea | Edgware).

Accepted concessionary bus passes: London Freedom pass.

The Northern Line (Battersea | Edgware) is a London Underground (Tube) service, not a bus route. Freedom Passes are valid for travel on the Northern Line. Older Person's Freedom Passes are valid free on TfL Tube services between 09:00 and 04:30 on weekdays and at all times on weekends and bank holidays. Disabled Person's Freedom Passes are valid at all times. English National Concessionary Travel Scheme (ENCTS) passes, issued outside London, are not valid on the London Underground, including the Northern Line. Other national concessionary passes (Welsh, Scottish, Northern Irish) are generally not accepted on the London Underground.
