The Metropolitan line is part of the London Underground network. You do not need to book a seat to travel on this service. You simply turn up at any station along the route and pay for your journey using a contactless payment card or device, an Oyster card, or by purchasing a paper ticket from a machine.

Concessions & free bus passes

Concessionary passes are accepted on Metropolitan to Uxbridge.

Accepted concessionary bus passes: London Freedom pass.

The London Freedom Pass and the 60+ London Oyster photocard are valid for travel on the Metropolitan line to Uxbridge. Older Person's Freedom Passes and 60+ Oyster photocards are valid for free travel anytime Monday to Friday, except between 04:30 and 09:00, and anytime at weekends and on bank holidays. Disabled Person's Freedom Passes are valid for free travel at all times. English National Concessionary Travel Scheme (ENCTS) passes issued outside London are generally not valid on London Underground services, including the Metropolitan line; their validity in London is primarily for bus services. Passes from Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland are not accepted on London Underground services.
